Addressing Humanitarian Needs Caused by Ongoing Regional Conflict
Backstory
Since our founding, our primary focus as an organization has been to focus on long-term leadership development and projects which will ultimately build a stronger future for the churches and their communities in the Nuba Mountains. However, as the civil war and its impact continues to affect the people, the church is one of the only organizations in the Nuba Mountains working to care for the people. With limited NGO presence because of the war, even though the Nuba Mountains is only around 10% Christian, the churches are the ones stepping up to support to the people with relief and immediate support.
Goals
- Support a strong diocesan staff that can see beyond just the immediate administrative needs of the church and help the Anglicans of the Nuba Mountains to care well for others in their surrounding communities
- Deal with urgent immediate needs on a case by case basis and assess with our partners what areas for which we need to make special efforts to support
- Collaborate with other organizations who specialize in humanitarian relief and can support church efforts in the region
