Our New Executive Director

Announcing our New Name
From the time we started in 2020 to now, we have been blessed to see the Lord grow our ministry and call us into a bigger impact in Sudan than we ever could have imagined. In light of this, we are making two major changes this year:
First, we hired a new Executive Director, Jared Wensyel, to manage the day to day work of our growing ministry. If you have not seen our recent announcement on Jared, check out our last bulletin here
Second, we are changing our name. Pax Dei for Nuba is a wonderful name with beautiful meaning: "God's Peace for Nuba". As Sudan continues to face a horrible and seemingly endless civil war, we continue to pray that God's peace impacts and reaches the hearts of both Christians and those who are un-reached with the Gospel. However, we have seen two things:
- Our ministry, while continuing to prioritize the Nuba Mountains, is impacting well beyond just this region. The strength of the churches and the work we are supporting is impacting other dioceses and regions of Sudan and we believe will shape the future of the Sudanese Church.
- Also, the name Pax Dei for Nuba takes longer to explain and is harder to remember for some folks.
We are not just a humanitarian or relief agency, although we do provide some major short-term relief. We are ultimately, first and foremost, a ministry for the church and by the church, whose impact will build up the Body of Christ in Sudan. This is why we feel that the new name Sudan Church Partners reflects our identity and purpose well.
As the civil war continues, we believe that by pouring into the leaders God is calling, including pastors, teachers, evangelists, students, Mother's Union members, and many more, we will see a strong church in Sudan that outlasts whatever this war will bring.
This is why our mission continues to be:
Enabling Christ-formed leadership for Sudan's Anglican Church

The military situation in and around the Nuba Mountains has changed a lot recently. RSF soldiers from the largest Sudanese rebel group, have now gone from enemies to cautious allies of the local SPLA-N in charge of Nuba.
