Final Bulletin for 2023
December 5, 2023Grace is the only fully operational secondary school in a region of 2 million people. Students attending the school gain a solid education and learn about Jesus. Many from animist or Muslim families have come to faith in Christ and have helped lead their families to Him as well.
This past spring, Grace's first graduating class of 12 students took the national exam to graduate, and all but one passed with flying colors! Graduates speak of plans to become teachers, doctors, evangelists, accountants, and engineers to bring peace and progress to their communities.
Since the formation of Pax Dei for Nuba in 2020, Grace School has been one of our top priorities. The school has grown from about 30 students and a handful of volunteer and untrained teachers to over 200 students with a staff of fully credentialed teachers today.
Over the next three years, Grace will grow to about 500 students as the school moves into a new permanent campus, funded through a generous grant from Relay Trust and Anglican Aid Australia. Pax Dei for Nuba will provide operational support for the next several years until it can become self-sustaining.
Though students contribute $80/year toward their education (either with money or food from family farms), the actual cost is about $500/year. You can help support their education with 12 monthly donations of $42. In addition, as students move into the new school, Pax Dei for Nuba seeks an additional one-time outlay of $90,000 to provide textbooks, a library collection, computers, and laboratory equipment for the new campus.

This is Salima William. She just graduated and scored the highest among her peers on the national exam. She wishes to work as an accountant when she completes her college education.

This is Jacob Timothous, who hopes to receive further training as an evangelist after graduation. "I see that when many in the Nuba Mountains lose hope they start committing suicide. I want to teach them the Word of God so that they know the importance of their life."
