GOATS for Nuba!
March 13, 2023The story of Jesus is truly good news to the Nuba People who have turned to Christ out of tribal and Islam religions. When asked why so many are doing this, one of the Sudanese evangelists responded, "In the Nuba Mountains, many who are Muslim do not know that God loves them. They only think Allah wants them to fight and die. When we preach the love of Christ, people are shocked! They say, 'Why has no one told us this?'"
Recently, the gospel of Jesus Christ was shared through a series of multi-day evangelism workshops hosted by local churches. The workshops were led by Bishop Andudu, along with evangelists "Seth," "David," and "Jared" (pseudonyms used to protect their identity).
Each morning, training sessions were conducted to prepare church leaders to receive and disciple converts. In the afternoon, workshop attendees traveled through surrounding villages to share the good news. Each evening, up to 1000 people attended open-air crusades where they heard the gospel preached - many hearing this good news for the first time.
For those traveling a long distance, the Diocese of Kadugli provided food, water, and shelter, much like Jesus' feeding of the 5000 in John 6!
Pax Dei for Nuba provides $5000 for each workshop to support for the evangelists, PA systems, and food for workshop attendees. You can help with the work in the Nuba Mountains by clicking on the DONATE button below.
